  1. And Nuh said: My Lord! leave not upon the land any dweller from among the unbelievers:

  2. My Lord! forgive me and my parents and him who enters my house believing, and the believing men and the believing women; and do not increase the unjust in aught but destruction!

  3. Guiding to the right way, so we believe in it, and we will not set up any one with our Lord:

  4. And that He-- exalted be the majesty of our Lord-- has not taken a consort, nor a son:

  5. And that we know not whether evil is meant for those who are on earth or whether their Lord means to bring them good:

  6. And that when we heard the guidance, we believed in it; so whoever believes in his Lord, he should neither fear loss nor being overtaken (by disgrace):

  7. So that We might try them with respect to it; and whoever turns aside from the reminder of his Lord, He will make him enter into an afflicting chastisement:

  8. Say: I only call upon my Lord, and I do not associate any one with Him.

  9. Say: I do not know whether that with which you are threatened be nigh or whether my Lord will appoint for it a term:

  10. So that He may know that they have truly delivered the messages of their Lord, and He encompasses what is with them and He records the number of all things.

  11. And remember the name of your Lord and devote yourself to Him with (exclusive) devotion.

  12. The Lord of the East and the West-- there is no god but He-- therefore take Him for a protector.

  13. Surely this is a reminder, then let him, who will take the way to his Lord.

  14. Surely your Lord knows that you pass in prayer nearly two-thirds of the night, and (sometimes) half of it, and (sometimes) a third of it, and (also) a party of those with you; and Allah measures the night and the day. He knows that you are not able to do it, so He has turned to you (mercifully), therefore read what is easy of the Quran. He knows that there must be among you sick, and others who travel in the land seeking of the bounty of Allah, and others who fight in Allah's way, therefore read as much of it as is easy (to you), and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate and offer to Allah a goodly gift, and whatever of good you send on beforehand for yourselves, you will find it with Allah; that is best and greatest in reward; and ask forgiveness of Allah; surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

  15. And your Lord do magnify,

  16. And for the sake of your Lord, be patient.

  17. And We have not made the wardens of the fire others than angels, and We have not made their number but as a trial for those who disbelieve, that those who have been given the book may be certain and those who believe may increase in faith, and those who have been given the book and the believers may not doubt, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the unbelievers may say: What does Allah mean by this parable? Thus does Allah make err whom He pleases, and He guides whom He pleases, and none knows the hosts of your Lord but He Himself; and this is naught but a reminder to the mortals.

  18. With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest.

  19. Looking to their Lord.

  20. To your Lord on that day shall be the driving.

  21. Surely we fear from our Lord a stern, distressful day.

  22. Upon them shall be garments of fine green silk and thick silk interwoven with gold, and they shall be adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord shall make them drink a pure drink.

  23. Therefore wait patiently for the command of your Lord, and obey not from among them a sinner or an ungrateful one.

  24. And glorify the name of your Lord morning and evening.

  25. Surely this is a reminder, so whoever pleases takes to his Lord a way.

  26. A reward from your Lord, a gift according to a reckoning:

  27. The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, the Beneficent Allah, they shall not be able to address Him.

  28. That is the sure day, so whoever desires may take refuge with his Lord.

  29. When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice,

  30. And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear.

  31. Then he said: I am your lord, the most high.

  32. And as for him who fears to stand in the presence of his Lord and forbids the soul from low desires,

  33. To your Lord is the goal of it.

  34. And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds.

  35. O man ! what has beguiled you from your Lord, the Gracious one,

  36. The day on which men shall stand before the Lord of the worlds?

  37. Nay! most surely they shall on that day be debarred from their Lord.

  38. And obeys its Lord and it must.

  39. And obeys its Lord and it must.

  40. O man! surely you must strive (to attain) to your Lord, a hard striving until you meet Him.

  41. Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him.

  42. Surely the might of your Lord is great.

  43. Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High,

  44. And magnifies the name of his Lord and prays.

  45. Have you not considered how your Lord dealt with Ad,

  46. Therefore your Lord let down upon them a portion of the chastisement.

  47. Most sure!y your Lord is watching.

  48. And as for man, when his Lord tries him, then treats him with honor and makes him lead an easy life, he says: My Lord honors me.

  49. But when He tries him (differently), then straitens to him his means of subsistence, he says: My Lord has disgraced me.

  50. And your Lord comes and (also) the angels in ranks,

  51. Return to your Lord, well-pleased (with him), well-pleasing (Him),

  52. But they called him a liar and slaughtered her, therefore their Lord crushed them for their sin and levelled them (with the ground).

  53. Except the seeking of the pleasure of his Lord, the Most High.

  54. Your Lord has not forsaken you, nor has He become displeased,

  55. And soon will your Lord give you so that you shall be well pleased.

  56. And as for the favor of your Lord, do announce (it).

  57. And make your Lord your exclusive object.

  58. Read in the name of your Lord Who created.

  59. Read and your Lord is Most Honorable,

  60. Surely to your Lord is the return.

  61. The angels and Gibreel descend in it by the permission of their Lord for every affair,

  62. Their reward with their Lord is gardens of perpetuity beneath which rivers flow, abiding therein for ever; Allah is well pleased with them and they are well pleased with Him; that is for him who fears his Lord.

  63. Because your Lord had inspired her.

  64. Most surely man is ungrateful to his Lord.

  65. Most surely their Lord that day shall be fully aware of them.

  66. Have you not considered how your Lord dealt with the possessors of the elephant?

  67. So let them serve the Lord of this House

  68. Therefore pray to your Lord and make a sacrifice.

  69. Then celebrate the praise of your Lord, and ask His forgiveness; surely He is oft-returning (to mercy).

  70. Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of the dawn,

  71. Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of men,
