• جَحِيم

Appears 26 times in the Quran.

1. 2:119 إِنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَٰكَ بِٱلْحَقِّ بَشِيرًا وَنَذِيرًا وَلَا تُسْـَٔلُ عَنْ أَصْحَٰبِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ

   Surely We have sent you with the truth as a bearer of good news and as a warner, and you shall not be called upon to answer for the companions of the flaming fire.
   

2. 5:10 وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَكَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْجَحِيمِ

   And (as for) those who disbelieve and reject our communications, these are the companions of the name.
   

3. 5:86 وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَكَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْجَحِيمِ

   And (as for) those who disbelieve and reject Our communications, these are the companions of the flame.
   

4. 9:113 مَا كَانَ لِلنَّبِىِّ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ أَن يَسْتَغْفِرُوا۟ لِلْمُشْرِكِينَ وَلَوْ كَانُوٓا۟ أُو۟لِى قُرْبَىٰ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُمْ أَنَّهُمْ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْجَحِيمِ

   It is not (fit) for the Prophet and those who believe that they should ask forgiveness for the polytheists, even though they should be near relatives, after it has become clear to them that they are inmates of the flaming fire.
   

5. 22:51 وَٱلَّذِينَ سَعَوْا۟ فِىٓ ءَايَٰتِنَا مُعَٰجِزِينَ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْجَحِيمِ

   And (as for) those who strive to oppose Our communications, they shall be the inmates of the flaming fire.
   

6. 26:91 وَبُرِّزَتِ ٱلْجَحِيمُ لِلْغَاوِينَ

   And the hell shall be made manifest to the erring ones,
   

7. 37:23 مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ فَٱهْدُوهُمْ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ

   Besides Allah, then lead them to the way to hell.
   

8. 37:55 فَٱطَّلَعَ فَرَءَاهُ فِى سَوَآءِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ

   Then he looked down and saw him in the midst of hell.
   

9. 37:64 إِنَّهَا شَجَرَةٌ تَخْرُجُ فِىٓ أَصْلِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ

   Surely it is a tree that-grows in the bottom of the hell;
   

10. 37:68 ثُمَّ إِنَّ مَرْجِعَهُمْ لَإِلَى ٱلْجَحِيمِ

    Then most surely their return shall be to hell.
    

11. 37:97 قَالُوا۟ ٱبْنُوا۟ لَهُۥ بُنْيَٰنًا فَأَلْقُوهُ فِى ٱلْجَحِيمِ

    They said: Build for him a furnace, then cast him into the burning fire.
    

12. 37:163 إِلَّا مَنْ هُوَ صَالِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ

    Save him who will go to hell.
    

13. 40:7 ٱلَّذِينَ يَحْمِلُونَ ٱلْعَرْشَ وَمَنْ حَوْلَهُۥ يُسَبِّحُونَ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّهِمْ وَيُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِۦ وَيَسْتَغْفِرُونَ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ رَبَّنَا وَسِعْتَ كُلَّ شَىْءٍ رَّحْمَةً وَعِلْمًا فَٱغْفِرْ لِلَّذِينَ تَابُوا۟ وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟ سَبِيلَكَ وَقِهِمْ عَذَابَ ٱلْجَحِيمِ

    Those who bear the power and those around Him celebrate the praise of their Lord and believe in Him and ask protection for those who believe: Our Lord! Thou embracest all things in mercy and knowledge, therefore grant protection to those who turn (to Thee) and follow Thy way, and save them from the punishment of the hell:
    

14. 44:47 خُذُوهُ فَٱعْتِلُوهُ إِلَىٰ سَوَآءِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ

    Seize him, then drag him down into the middle of the hell;
    

15. 44:56 لَا يَذُوقُونَ فِيهَا ٱلْمَوْتَ إِلَّا ٱلْمَوْتَةَ ٱلْأُولَىٰ وَوَقَىٰهُمْ عَذَابَ ٱلْجَحِيمِ

    They shall not taste therein death except the first death, and He will save them from the punishment of the hell,
    

16. 52:18 فَٰكِهِينَ بِمَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ وَوَقَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ عَذَابَ ٱلْجَحِيمِ

    Rejoicing because of what their Lord gave them, and their Lord saved them from the punishment of the burning fire.
    

17. 56:94 وَتَصْلِيَةُ جَحِيمٍ

    And burning in hell.
    

18. 57:19 وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِۦٓ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلصِّدِّيقُونَ وَٱلشُّهَدَآءُ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ لَهُمْ أَجْرُهُمْ وَنُورُهُمْ وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَكَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْجَحِيمِ

    And (as for) those who believe in Allah and His messengers, these it is that are the truthful and the faithful ones in the sight of their Lord: they shall have their reward and their light, and (as for) those who disbelieve and reject Our communications, these are the inmates of the hell.
    

19. 69:31 ثُمَّ ٱلْجَحِيمَ صَلُّوهُ

    Then cast him into the burning fire,
    

20. 73:12 إِنَّ لَدَيْنَآ أَنكَالًا وَجَحِيمًا

    Surely with Us are heavy fetters and a flaming fire,
    

21. 79:36 وَبُرِّزَتِ ٱلْجَحِيمُ لِمَن يَرَىٰ

    And the hell shall be made manifest to him who sees
    

22. 79:39 فَإِنَّ ٱلْجَحِيمَ هِىَ ٱلْمَأْوَىٰ

    Then surely the hell, that is the abode.
    

23. 81:12 وَإِذَا ٱلْجَحِيمُ سُعِّرَتْ

    And when the hell is kindled up,
    

24. 82:14 وَإِنَّ ٱلْفُجَّارَ لَفِى جَحِيمٍ

    And most surely the wicked are in burning fire,
    

25. 83:16 ثُمَّ إِنَّهُمْ لَصَالُوا۟ ٱلْجَحِيمِ

    Then most surely they shall enter the burning fire.
    

26. 102:6 لَتَرَوُنَّ ٱلْجَحِيمَ

    You should most certainly have seen the hell;
