  1. O you who believe! do not make your charity worthless by reproach and injury, like him who spends his property to be seen of men and does not believe in Allah and the last day; so his parable is as the parable of a smooth rock with earth upon it, then a heavy rain falls upon it, so it leaves it bare; they shall not be able to gain anything of what they have earned; and Allah does not guide the unbelieving people.

  2. Surely the likeness of Isa is with Allah as the likeness of Adam; He created him from dust, then said to him, Be, and he was.

  3. And if you would wonder, then wondrous is their saying: What! when we are dust, shall we then certainly be in a new creation? These are they who disbelieve in their Lord, and these have chains on their necks, and they are the inmates of the fire; in it they shall abide.

  4. He hides himself from the people because of the evil of that which is announced to him. Shall he keep it with disgrace or bury it (alive) in the dust? Now surely evil is what they judge.

  5. His companion said to him while disputing with him: Do you disbelieve in Him Who created you from dust, then from a small seed, then He made you a perfect man?

  6. O people! if you are in doubt about the raising, then surely We created you from dust, then from a small seed, then from a clot, then from a lump of flesh, complete in make and incomplete, that We may make clear to you; and We cause what We please to stay in the wombs till an appointed time, then We bring you forth as babies, then that you may attain your maturity; and of you is he who is caused to die, and of you is he who is brought back to the worst part of life, so that after having knowledge he does not know anything; and you see the earth sterile land, but when We send down on it the water, it stirs and swells and brings forth of every kind a beautiful herbage.

  7. What! does he threaten you that when you are dead and become dust and bones that you shall then be brought forth?

  8. They say: What! When we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we then be raised?

  9. And those who disbelieve say: What! when we have become dust and our fathers (too), shall we certainly be brought forth?

  10. And one of His signs is that He created you from dust, then lo! you are mortals (who) scatter.

  11. And Allah created you of dust, then of the life-germ, then He made you pairs; and no female bears, nor does she bring forth, except with His knowledge; and no one whose life is lengthened has his life lengthened, nor is aught diminished of one's life, but it is all in a book; surely this is easy to Allah.

  12. What! when we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then certainly be raised,

  13. What! when we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then be certainly brought to judgment?

  14. And with them shall be those restraining their eyes, equals in age.

  15. He it is Who created you from dust, then from a small lifegerm, then from a clot, then He brings you forth as a child, then that you may attain your maturity, then that you may be old-- and of you there are some who are caused to die before-- and that you may reach an appointed term, and that you may understand.

  16. What! when we are dead and have become dust? That is afar (from probable) return.

  17. Loving, equals in age,

  18. And they used to say: What! when we die and have become dust and bones, shall we then indeed be raised?

  19. And those showing freshness of youth, equals in age,

  20. Surely We have warned you of a chastisement near at hand: the day when man shall see what his two hands have sent before, and the unbeliever shall say: O! would that I were dust!

  21. Coming from between the back and the ribs.

  22. Or to the poor man lying in the dust.
