  1. And certainly Our word has already gone forth in respect of Our servants, the messengers:

  2. He said: Surely he has been unjust to you in demanding your ewe (to add) to his own ewes; and most surely most of the partners act wrongfully towards one another, save those who believe and do good, and very few are they; and Dawood was sure that We had tried him, so he sought the protection of his Lord and he fell down bowing and turned time after time (to Him).

  3. And certainly We tried Sulaiman, and We put on his throne a (mere) body, so he turned (to Allah).

  4. And certainly We have set forth to men in this Quran similitudes of every sort that they may mind.

  5. Those before them did say it indeed, but what they earned availed them not.

  6. Aye! My communications came to you, but you rejected them, and you were proud and you were one of the unbelievers.

  7. And certainly, it has been revealed to you and to those before you: Surely if you associate (with Allah), your work would certainly come to naught and you would certainly be of the losers.

  8. And keep them from evil deeds, and whom Thou keepest from evil deeds this day, indeed Thou hast mercy on him, and that is the mighty achievement.

  9. And certainly We sent Musa with Our communications and clear authority,

  10. And a believing man of Firon's people who hid his faith said: What! will you slay a man because he says: My Lord is Allah, and indeed he has brought to you clear arguments from your Lord? And if he be a liar, on him will be his lie, and if he be truthful, there will befall you some of that which he threatens you (with); surely Allah does not guide him who is extravagant, a liar:

  11. And certainly Yusuf came to you before with clear arguments, but you ever remained in doubt as to what he brought; until when he died, you said: Allah will never raise a messenger after him. Thus does Allah cause him to err who is extravagant, a doubter

  12. Those who were proud shall say: Surely we are all in it: surely Allah has judged between the servants.

  13. And certainly We gave Musa the guidance, and We made the children of Israel inherit the Book,

  14. And certainly We sent messengers before you: there are some of them that We have mentioned to you and there are others whom We have not mentioned to you, and it was not meet for a messenger that he should bring a sign except with Allah's permission, but when the command of Allah came, judgment was given with truth, and those who treated (it) as a lie were lost.

  15. But their belief was not going to profit them when they had seen Our punishment; (this is) Allah's law, which has indeed obtained in the matter of His servants, and there the unbelievers are lost.

  16. And We have appointed for them comrades so they have made fair-seeming to them what is before them and what is behind them, and the word proved true against them-- among the nations of the jinn and the men that have passed away before them-- that they shall surely be losers.

  17. Naught is said to you but what was said indeed to the messengers before you; surely your Lord is the Lord of forgiveness and the Lord of painful retribution.

  18. And certainly We gave the Book to Musa, but it has been differed about, and had not a word already gone forth from your Lord, judgment would certainly have been given between them; and most surely they are in a disquieting doubt about it.

  19. And certainly We sent Musa with Our communications to Firon and his chiefs, so he said: Surely I am the messenger of the Lord of the worlds.

  20. And when Isa came with clear arguments he said: I have come to you indeed with wisdom, and that I may make clear to you part of what you differ in; so be careful of (your duty to) Allah and obey me:

  21. Certainly We have brought you the truth, but most of you are averse to the truth.

  22. How shall they be reminded, and there came to them an Messenger making clear (the truth),

  23. And certainly We tried before them the people of Firon, and there came to them a noble messenger,

  24. And certainly We delivered the children of Israel from the abasing chastisement,

  25. And certainly We chose them, having knowledge, above the nations.

  26. And certainly We gave the Book and the wisdom and the prophecy to the children of Israel, and We gave them of the goodly things, and We made them excel the nations.

  27. And he who says to his parents: Fie on you! do you threaten me that I shall be brought forth when generations have already passed away before me? And they both call for Allah's aid: Woe to you! believe, surely the promise of Allah is true. But he says: This is nothing but stories of the ancients.

  28. These are they against whom the word has proved true among nations of the jinn and the men that have already passed away before them; surely they are losers.

  29. And mention the brother of Ad; when he warned his people in the sandy plains,-- and indeed warners came before him and after him-- saying Serve none but Allah; surely I fear for you the punishment of a grievous day.

  30. And certainly We had established them in what We have not established you in, and We had given-- them ears and eyes and hearts, but neither their ears, nor their eyes, nor their hearts availed them aught, since they denied the communications of Allah, and that which they mocked encompassed them.

  31. And certainly We destroyed the towns which are around you, and We repeat the communications that they might turn.

  32. Do they then wait for aught but the hour that it should come to them all of a sudden? Now indeed the tokens of it have (already) come, but how shall they have their reminder when it comes on them?

  33. Certainly Allah was well pleased with the believers when they swore allegiance to you under the tree, and He knew what was in their hearts, so He sent down tranquillity on them and rewarded them with a near victory,

  34. And others which you have not yet been able to achieve Allah has surely encompassed them, and Allah has power over all things.

  35. Such has been the course of Allah that has indeed run before, and you shall not find a change in Allah's course.

  36. Certainly Allah had shown to His Messenger the vision with truth: you shall most certainly enter the Sacred Mosque, if Allah pleases, in security, (some) having their heads shaved and (others) having their hair cut, you shall not fear, but He knows what you do not know, so He brought about a near victory before that.

  37. We know indeed what the earth diminishes of them, and with Us is a writing that preserves.

  38. And certainly We created man, and We know what his mind suggests to him, and We are nearer to him than his life-vein.

  39. Certainly you were heedless of it, but now We have removed from you your veil, so your sight today is sharp.

  40. He will say: Do not quarrel in My presence, and indeed I gave you the threatening beforehand:

  41. And certainly We created the heavens and the earth and what is between them in six periods and there touched Us not any fatigue.

  42. And certainly he saw him in another descent,

  43. Certainly he saw of the greatest signs of his Lord.

  44. They are naught but names which you have named, you and your fathers; Allah has not sent for them any authority. They follow naught but conjecture and the low desires which (their) souls incline to; and certainly the guidance has come to them from their Lord.

  45. And certainly some narratives have come to them wherein is prevention--

  46. And We made water to flow forth in the land in springs, so the water gathered together according to a measure already ordained.

  47. And certainly We left it as a sign, but is there anyone who

  48. And certainly We have made the Quran easy for remembrance, but is there anyone who will mind?

  49. And certainly We have made the Quran easy for remembrance, but is there anyone who will mind?

  50. And certainly We have made the Quran easy for remembrance, but is there anyone who will mind?

  51. And certainly he warned them of Our violent seizure, but they obstinately disputed the warning.

  52. And certainly they endeavored to turn him from his guests, but We blinded their eyes; so taste My chastisement and My warning.

  53. And certainly a lasting chastisement overtook them in the morning.

  54. And certainly We have made the Quran easy for remembrance, but is there anyone who will mind?

  55. And certainly the warning came to Firon's people.

  56. And certainly We have already destroyed the likes of you, but is there anyone who will mind?

  57. And certainly you know the first growth, why do you not then mind?

  58. And what reason have you that you should not believe in Allah? And the Messenger calls on you that you may believe in your Lord, and indeed He has made a covenant with you if you are believers.

  59. Know that Allah gives life to the earth after its death; indeed, We have made the communications clear to you that you may understand.

  60. Certainly We sent Our messengers with clear arguments, and sent down with them the Book and the balance that men may conduct themselves with equity; and We have made the iron, wherein is great violence and advantages to men, and that Allah may know who helps Him and His messengers in the secret; surely Allah is Strong, Mighty.

  61. And certainly We sent Nuh and Ibrahim and We gave to their offspring the (gift of) prophecy and the Book; so there are among them those who go aright, and most of them are transgressors.

  62. Allah indeed knows the plea of her who pleads with you about her husband and complains to Allah, and Allah knows the contentions of both of you; surely Allah is Hearing, Seeing.

  63. Surely those who act in opposition to Allah and His Messenger shall be laid down prostrate as those before them were laid down prostrate; and indeed We have revealed clear communications, and the unbelievers shall have an abasing chastisement.

  64. O you who believe! do not take My enemy and your enemy for friends: would you offer them love while they deny what has come to you of the truth, driving out the Messenger and yourselves because you believe in Allah, your Lord? If you go forth struggling hard in My path and seeking My pleasure, would you manifest love to them? And I know what you conceal and what you manifest; and whoever of you does this, he indeed has gone astray from the straight path.

  65. Indeed, there is for you a good example in Ibrahim and those with him when they said to their people: Surely we are clear of you and of what you serve besides Allah; we declare ourselves to be clear of you, and enmity and hatred have appeared between us and you forever until you believe in Allah alone-- but not in what Ibrahim said to his father: I would certainly ask forgiveness for you, and I do not control for you aught from Allah-- Our Lord! on Thee do we rely, and to Thee do we turn, and to Thee is the eventual coming:

  66. Certainly there is for you in them a good example, for him who fears Allah and the last day; and whoever turns back, then surely Allah is the Self-sufficient, the Praised.

  67. O you who believe! do not make friends with a people with whom Allah is wroth; indeed they despair of the hereafter as the unbelievers despair of those in tombs.

  68. And when Musa said to his people: O my people! why do you give me trouble? And you know indeed that I am Allah's messenger to you; but when they turned aside, Allah made their hearts turn aside, and Allah does not guide the transgressing people.

  69. O Prophet! when you divorce women, divorce them for~ their prescribed time, and calculate the number of the days prescribed, and be careful of (your duty to) Allah, your Lord. Do not drive them out of their houses, nor should they themselves go forth, unless they commit an open indecency; and these are the limits of Allah, and whoever goes beyond the limits of Allah, he indeed does injustice to his own soul. You do not know that Allah may after that bring about reunion.

  70. And give him sustenance from whence he thinks not; and whoever trusts in Allah, He is sufficient for him; surely Allah attains His purpose; Allah indeed has appointed a measure for everything.

  71. Allah has prepared for them severe chastisement, therefore be careful of (your duty to) Allah, O men of understanding who believe! Allah has indeed revealed to you a reminder,

  72. An Messenger who recites to you the clear communications of Allah so that he may bring forth those who believe and do good deeds from darkness into light; and whoever believes in Allah and does good deeds, He will cause him to enter gardens beneath which rivers now, to abide therein forever, Allah has indeed given him a goodly sustenance.

  73. Allah is He Who created seven heavens, and of the earth the like of them; the decree continues to descend among them, that you may know that Allah has power over all things and that Allah indeed encompasses all things in (His) knowledge. GOD created seven universes and the same number of earths. The commands flow among them. This is to let you know that GOD is Omnipotent, and that GOD is fully aware of all things

  74. Allah indeed has sanctioned for you the expiation of your oaths and Allah is your Protector, and He is the Knowing the Wise.

  75. If you both turn to Allah, then indeed your hearts are already inclined (to this); and if you back up each other against him, then surely Allah it is Who is his Guardian, and Jibreel and -the believers that do good, and the angels after that are the aiders.

  76. And certainly We have adorned this lower heaven with lamps and We have made these missiles for the Shaitans, and We have prepared for them the chastisement of burning.

  77. They shall say: Yea! indeed there came to us a warner, but we rejected (him) and said: Allah has not revealed anything, you are only in a great error.

  78. And certainly those before them rejected (the truth), then how was My disapproval.

  79. Their looks cast down, abasement shall overtake them; and they were called upon to make obeisance indeed while yet they were safe.

  80. And indeed He has created you through various grades:

  81. And indeed they have led astray many, and do not increase the unjust in aught but error.

  82. So that He may know that they have truly delivered the messages of their Lord, and He encompasses what is with them and He records the number of all things.

  83. And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon.

  84. He indeed shall be successful who purifies himself,

  85. Certainly We have created man to be in distress.

  86. He will indeed be successful who purifies it,

  87. And he will indeed fail who corrupts it.

  88. Certainly We created man in the best make.
