كَٰفِرُون

Appears 126 times in the Quran. (Root: كفر)
  1. Besides Allah? They shall say: They are gone away from us, nay, we used not to call upon anything before. Thus does Allah confound the unbelievers.

  2. But their belief was not going to profit them when they had seen Our punishment; (this is) Allah's law, which has indeed obtained in the matter of His servants, and there the unbelievers are lost.

  3. (To) those who do not give poor-rate and they are unbelievers in the hereafter.

  4. When their messengers came to them from before them and from behind them, saying, Serve nothing but Allah, they said: If our Lord had pleased He would certainly have sent down angels, so we are surely unbelievers in that with which you are sent.

  5. And He answers those who believe and do good deeds, and gives them more out of His grace; and (as for) the unbelievers, they shall have a severe punishment.

  6. (The warner) said: What! even if I bring to you a better guide than that on which you found your fathers? They said: Surely we are unbelievers in that with which you are sent.

  7. And when there came to them the truth they said: This is magic, and surely we are disbelievers in it.

  8. And when men are gathered together they shall be their enemies, and shall be deniers of their worshipping (them).

  9. Have they not then journeyed in the land and seen how was the end of those before them: Allah brought down destruction upon them, and the unbelievers shall have the like of it.

  10. That is because Allah is the Protector of those who believe, and because the unbelievers shall have no protector for them.

  11. And whoever does not believe in Allah and His Messenger, then surely We have prepared burning fire for the unbelievers.

  12. Nay! they wonder that there has come to them a warner from among themselves, so the unbelievers say: This is a wonderful thing:

  13. Hastening to the inviter. The unbelievers shall say: This is a hard day.

  14. But whoever has not the means, let him fast for two months successively before they touch each other; then as for him who is not able, let him feed sixty needy ones; that is in order that you may have faith in Allah and His Messenger, and these are Allah's limits, and the unbelievers shall have a painful punishment.

  15. Surely those who act in opposition to Allah and His Messenger shall be laid down prostrate as those before them were laid down prostrate; and indeed We have revealed clear communications, and the unbelievers shall have an abasing chastisement.

  16. They desire to put out the light of Allah with their mouths but Allah will perfect His light, though the unbelievers may be averse.

  17. Or who is it that will be a host for you to assist you besides the Beneficent Allah? The unbelievers are only in deception.

  18. Say: Have you considered if Allah should destroy me and those with me-- rather He will have mercy on us; yet who will protect the unbelievers from a painful punishment?

  19. And most surely it is a great grief to the unbelievers.

  20. The unbelievers-- there is none to avert it--

  21. And Nuh said: My Lord! leave not upon the land any dweller from among the unbelievers:

  22. For the unbelievers, anything but easy.

  23. And We have not made the wardens of the fire others than angels, and We have not made their number but as a trial for those who disbelieve, that those who have been given the book may be certain and those who believe may increase in faith, and those who have been given the book and the believers may not doubt, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the unbelievers may say: What does Allah mean by this parable? Thus does Allah make err whom He pleases, and He guides whom He pleases, and none knows the hosts of your Lord but He Himself; and this is naught but a reminder to the mortals.

  24. Surely We have prepared for the unbelievers chains and shackles and a burning fire.

  25. So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a
