جَآءَهُم

Appears 15 times in the Quran. (Root: جيا)
  1. And when there came to them a Book from Allah verifying that which they have, and aforetime they used to pray for victory against those who disbelieve, but when there came to them (Prophet) that which they did not recognize, they disbelieved in him; so Allah's curse is on the unbelievers.

  2. Yet why did they not, when Our punishment came to them, humble themselves? But their hearts hardened and the Shaitan made what they did fair-seeming to them.

  3. Yet their cry, when Our punishment came to them, was nothing but that they said: Surely we were unjust.

  4. Is it then that they do not ponder over what is said, or is it that there has come to them that which did not come to their fathers of old?

  5. Or do they say: There is madness in him? Nay! he has brought them the truth, and most of them are averse from the truth.

  6. Then there comes to them that with which they are threatened,

  7. So when Musa came to them with Our clear signs, they said: This is nothing but forged enchantment, and we never heard of it amongst our fathers of old.

  8. And (We destroyed) Qaroun and Firon and Haman; and certainly Musa came to them with clear arguments, but they behaved haughtily in the land; yet they could not outstrip (Us).

  9. And they wonder that there has come to them a warner from among themselves, and the disbelievers say: This IS an enchanter, a liar.

  10. So when he brought to them the truth from Us, they said: Slay the sons of those who believe with him and keep their women alive; and the struggle of the unbelievers will only come to a state of perdition.

  11. But when he came to them with Our signs, lo! they laughed at them.

  12. Nay! they wonder that there has come to them a warner from among themselves, so the unbelievers say: This is a wonderful thing:

  13. They are naught but names which you have named, you and your fathers; Allah has not sent for them any authority. They follow naught but conjecture and the low desires which (their) souls incline to; and certainly the guidance has come to them from their Lord.

  14. And certainly some narratives have come to them wherein is prevention--

  15. And when Isa son of Marium said: O children of Israel! surely I am the messenger of Allah to you, verifying that which is before me of the Taurat and giving the good news of an Messenger who will come after me, his name being Ahmad, but when he came to them with clear arguments they said: This is clear magic.
