حَفِيظ

Appears 12 times in the Quran. (Root: حفظ)
  1. Whoever obeys the Messenger, he indeed obeys Allah, and whoever turns back, so We have not sent you as a keeper over them.

  2. And He is the Supreme, above His servants, and He sends keepers over you; until when death comes to one of you, Our messengers cause him to die, and they are not remiss.

  3. Indeed there have come to you clear proofs from your Lord; whoever will therefore see, it is for his own soul and whoever will be blind, it shall be against himself and I am not a keeper over you.

  4. And if Allah had pleased, they would not have set up others (with Him) and We have not appointed you a keeper over them, and you are not placed in charge of them.

  5. But if you turn back, then indeed I have delivered to you the message with which I have been sent to you, and my Lord will bring another people in your place, and you cannot do Him any harm; surely my Lord is the Preserver of all things.

  6. What remains with Allah is better for you if you are believers, and I am not a keeper over you.

  7. He said: Place me (in authority) over the treasures of the land, surely I am a good keeper, knowing well.

  8. And he has no authority over them, but that We may distinguish him who believes in the hereafter from him who is in doubt concerning it; and your Lord is the Preserver of all things

  9. And (as for) those who take guardians besides Him, Allah watches over them, and you have not charge over them.

  10. But if they turn aside, We have not sent you as a watcher over them; on you is only to deliver (the message); and surely when We make man taste mercy from Us, he rejoices thereat; and if an evil afflicts them on account of what their hands have already done, then-surely man is ungrateful.

  11. We know indeed what the earth diminishes of them, and with Us is a writing that preserves.

  12. This is what you were promised, (it is) for every one who turns frequently (to Allah), keeps (His limits);
