18:6 فَلَعَلَّكَ بَٰخِعٌ نَّفْسَكَ عَلَىٰٓ ءَاثَٰرِهِمْ إِن لَّمْ يُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِهَٰذَا ٱلْحَدِيثِ أَسَفًا
Then maybe you will kill yourself with grief, sorrowing after them, if they do not believe in this announcement.

So in their footsteps they are being hastened on.
