صَبْر

Appears 14 times in the Quran. (Root: صبر)
  1. And seek assistance through patience and prayer, and most surely it is a hard thing except for the humble ones,

  2. O you who believe! seek assistance through patience and prayer; surely Allah is with the patient.

  3. And when they went out against Jalut and his forces they said: Our Lord, pour down upon us patience, and make our steps firm and assist us against the unbelieving people.

  4. And you do not take revenge on us except because we have believed in the communications of our Lord when they came to us! Our Lord: Pour out upon us patience and cause us to die in submission.

  5. And they brought his shirt with false blood upon it. He said: Nay, your souls have made the matter light for you, but patience is good and Allah is He Whose help is sought for against what you describe.

  6. He (Yaqoub) said: Nay, your souls have made a matter light for you, so patience is good; maybe Allah will bring them all together to me; surely He is the Knowing, the Wise.

  7. He said: Surely you cannot have patience with me

  8. He said: Did I not say that you will not be able to have patience with me?

  9. He said: Did I not say to you that you will not be able to have patience with me?

  10. He said: This shall be separation between me and you; now I will inform you of the significance of that with which you could not have patience.

  11. And as for the wall, it belonged to two orphan boys in the city, and there was beneath it a treasure belonging to them, and their father was a righteous man; so your Lord desired that they should attain their maturity and take out their treasure, a mercy from your Lord, and I did not do it of my own accord. This is the significance of that with which you could not have patience.

  12. Therefore endure with a goodly patience.

  13. Then he is of those who believe and charge one another to show patience, and charge one another to show compassion.

  14. Except those who believe and do good, and enjoin on each other truth, and enjoin on each other patience.
