  1. Say: If I err, I err only against my own soul, and if I follow a right direction, it ?s because of what my Lord reveals to me; surely He is Hearing, Nigh.

  2. Surely the Shaitan is your enemy, so take him for an enemy; he only invites his party that they may be inmates of the burning

  3. And a burdened soul cannot bear the burden of another and if one weighed down by burden should cry for (another to carry) its burden, not aught of it shall be carried, even though he be near of kin. You warn only those who fear their Lord in secret and keep up prayer; and whoever purifies himself, he purifies himself only for (the good of) his own soul; and to Allah is the eventual coming.

  4. And of men and beasts and cattle are various species of it likewise; those of His servants only who are possessed of knowledge fear Allah; surely Allah is Mighty, Forgiving.

  5. You can only warn him who follows the reminder and fears the Beneficent Allah in secret; so announce to him forgiveness and an honorable reward.

  6. His command, when He intends anything, is only to say to it: Be, so it is.

  7. So it shall only be a single cry, when lo! they shall see.

  8. Say: I am only a warner, and there is no god but Allah, the One, the Subduer (of all):

  9. What! he who is obedient during hours of the night, prostrating himself and standing, takes care of the hereafter and hopes for the mercy of his Lord! Say: Are those who know and those who do not know alike? Only the men of understanding are mindful.

  10. Say: O my servants who believe! be careful of (your duty to) your Lord; for those who do good in this world is good, and Allah's earth is spacious; only the patient will be paid back their reward in full without measure.

  11. Surely We have revealed to you the Book with the truth for the sake of men; so whoever follows the right way, it is for his own soul and whoever errs, he errs only to its detriment; and you are not a custodian over them.

  12. So when harm afflicts a man he calls upon Us; then, when We give him a favor from Us, he says: I have been given it only by means of knowledge. Nay, it is a trial, but most of them do not know.

  13. O my people! this life of the world is only a (passing) enjoyment, and surely the hereafter is the abode to settle;

  14. He it is Who gives life and brings death, so when He decrees an affair, He only says to it: Be, and it is.

  15. Say: I am only a mortal like you; it is revealed to me that your Allah is one Allah, therefore follow the right way to Him and ask His forgiveness; and woe to the polytheists;

  16. The way (to blame) is only against those who oppress men and revolt in the earth unjustly; these shall have a painful punishment.

  17. So have We made it easy in your tongue that they may be mindful.

  18. He said: The knowledge is only with Allah, and I deliver to you the message with which I am sent, but I see you are a people who are ignorant.

  19. The life of this world is only idle sport and play, and if you believe and guard (against evil) He will give you your rewards, and will not ask of you your possessions.

  20. Behold! you are those who are called upon to spend in Allah's way, but among you are those who are niggardly, and whoever is niggardly is niggardly against his own soul; and Allah is Self-sufficient and you have need (of Him), and if you turn back He will bring in your place another people, then they will not be like you.

  21. Surely those who swear allegiance to you do but swear allegiance to Allah; the hand of Allah is above their hands. Therefore whoever breaks (his faith), he breaks it only to the injury of his own soul, and whoever fulfills what he has covenanted with Allah, He will grant him a mighty reward.

  22. The believers are but brethren, therefore make peace between your brethren and be careful of (your duty to) Allah that mercy may be had on you.

  23. The believers are only those who believe in Allah and His Messenger then they doubt not and struggle hard with their wealth and their lives in the way of Allah; they are the truthful ones.

  24. What you are threatened with is most surely true,

  25. Enter into it, then bear (it) patiently, or do not bear (it) patiently, it is the same to you; you shall be requited only (for) what you did.

  26. Secret counsels are only (the work) of the Shaitan that he may cause to grieve those who believe, and he cannot hurt them in the least except with Allah's permission, and on Allah let the believers rely.

  27. Allah only forbids you respecting those who made war upon you on account of (your) religion, and drove you forth from your homes and backed up (others) in your expulsion, that you make friends with them, and whoever makes friends with them, these are the unjust.

  28. And obey Allah and obey the Messenger, but if you turn back, then upon Our Messenger devolves only the clear delivery (of the message).

  29. Your possessions and your children are only a trial, and Allah it is with Whom is a great reward.

  30. O you who disbelieve! do not urge excuses today; you shall be rewarded only according to what you did.

  31. Say: The knowledge (thereof is only with Allah and I am only a plain warner.

  32. Say: I only call upon my Lord, and I do not associate any one with Him.

  33. We only feed you for Allah's sake; we desire from you neither reward nor thanks:

  34. Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass.

  35. But it shall be only a single cry,

  36. You are only a warner to him who would fear it.

  37. Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder.
