تُجْزَوْنَ

Appears 9 times in the Quran. (Root: جزي)
  1. And who is more unjust than he who forges a lie against Allah, or says: It has been revealed to me; while nothing has been revealed to him, and he who says: I can reveal the like of what Allah has revealed? and if you had seen when the unjust shall be in the agonies of death and the angels shall spread forth their hands: Give up your souls; today shall you be recompensed with an ignominious chastisement because you spoke against Allah other than the truth and (because) you showed pride against His communications.

  2. Then it shall be said to those who were unjust: Taste abiding chastisement; you are not requited except for what you earned.

  3. And whoever brings evil, these shall be thrown down on their faces into the fire; shall you be rewarded (for) aught except what you did?

  4. So this day no soul shall be dealt with unjustly in the least; and you shall not be rewarded aught but that which you did.

  5. And you shall not be rewarded except (for) what you did.

  6. And you shall see every nation kneeling down; every nation shall be called to its book: today you shall be rewarded for what you did.

  7. And on the day when those who disbelieve shall be brought before the fire: You did away with your good things in your life of the world and you enjoyed them for a while, so today you shall be rewarded with the punishment of abasement because you were unjustly proud in the land and because you transgressed.

  8. Enter into it, then bear (it) patiently, or do not bear (it) patiently, it is the same to you; you shall be requited only (for) what you did.

  9. O you who disbelieve! do not urge excuses today; you shall be rewarded only according to what you did.
