جَمْع

Appears 10 times in the Quran. (Root: جمع)
  1. (As for) those of you who turned back on the day when the two armies met, only the Shaitan sought to cause them to make a slip on account of some deeds they had done, and certainly Allah has pardoned them; surely Allah is Forgiving, Forbearing.

  2. And what befell you on the day when the two armies met (at Ohud) was with Allah's knowledge, and that He might know the believers.

  3. And know that whatever thing you gain, a fifth of it is for Allah and for the Messenger and for the near of kin and the orphans and the needy and the wayfarer, if you believe in Allah and in that which We revealed to Our servant, on the day of distinction, the day on which the two parties met; and Allah has power over all things.

  4. And on that day We will leave a part of them in conflict with another part, and the trumpet will be blown, so We will gather them all together;

  5. So when the two hosts saw each other, the companions of Musa cried out: Most surely we are being overtaken.

  6. He said: I have been given this only on account of the knowledge I have. Did he not know that Allah had destroyed before him of the generations those who were mightier in strength than he and greater in assemblage? And the guilty shall not be asked about their faults.

  7. And thus have We revealed to you an Arabic Quran, that you may warn the mother city and those around it, and that you may give warning of the day of gathering together wherein is no doubt; a party shall be in the garden and (another) party in the burning fire.

  8. Soon shall the hosts be routed, and they shall turn (their) backs.

  9. On the day that He will gather you for the day of gathering, that is the day of loss and gain; and whoever believes in Allah and does good, He will remove from him his evil and cause him to enter gardens beneath which rivers flow, to abide therein forever; that is the great achievement.
