رَبّ

  1. All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds.

  2. And when Ibrahim said: My Lord, make it a secure town and provide its people with fruits, such of them as believe in Allah and the last day. He said: And whoever disbelieves, I will grant him enjoyment for a short while, then I will drive him to the chastisement of the fire; and it is an evil destination.

  3. When his Lord said to him, Be a Muslim, he said: I submit myself to the Lord of the worlds.

  4. And when Ibrahim said: My Lord! show me how Thou givest life to the dead, He said: What! and do you not believe? He said: Yes, but that my heart may be at ease. He said: Then take four of the birds, then train them to follow you, then place on every mountain a part of them, then call them, they will come to you flying; and know that Allah is Mighty, Wise.

  5. When a woman of Imran said: My Lord! surely I vow to Thee what is in my womb, to be devoted (to Thy service); accept therefore from me, surely Thou art the Hearing, the Knowing.

  6. So when she brought forth, she said: My Lord! Surely I have brought it forth a female-- and Allah knew best what she brought forth-- and the male is not like the female, and I have named it Marium, and I commend her and her offspring into Thy protection from the accursed Shaitan.

  7. There did Zakariya pray to his Lord; he said: My Lord! grant me from Thee good offspring; surely Thou art the Hearer of prayer.

  8. He said: My Lord! when shall there be a son (born) to me, and old age has already come upon me, and my wife is barren? He said: even thus does Allah what He pleases.

  9. He said: My Lord! appoint a sign for me. Said He: Your sign is that you should not speak to men for three days except by signs; and remember your Lord much and glorify Him in the evening and the morning.

  10. She said: My Lord! when shall there be a son (born) to I me, and man has not touched me? He said: Even so, Allah creates what He pleases; when He has decreed a matter, He only says to it, Be, and it is.

  11. Say: O followers of the Book! come to an equitable proposition between us and you that we shall not serve any but Allah and (that) we shall not associate aught with Him, and (that) some of us shall not take others for lords besides Allah; but if they turn back, then say: Bear witness that we are Muslims.

  12. And neither would he enjoin you that you should take the angels and the prophets for lords; what! would he enjoin you with unbelief after you are Muslims?

  13. He said: My Lord! Surely I have no control (upon any) but my own self and my brother; therefore make a separation between us and the nation of transgressors.

  14. If you will stretch forth your hand towards me to slay me, I am not one to stretch forth my hand towards you to slay you surely I fear Allah, the Lord of the worlds:

  15. So the roots of the people who were unjust were cut off; and all praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.

  16. Say: Shall we call on that besides Allah, which does not benefit us nor harm us, and shall we be returned back on our heels after Allah has guided us, like him whom the Shaitans have made to fall down perplexed in the earth? He has companions who call him to the right way, (saying): Come to us. Say: Surely the guidance of Allah, that is the (true) guidance, and we are commanded that we should submit to the Lord of the worlds.

  17. Say. Surely my prayer and my sacrifice and my life and my death are (all) for Allah, the Lord of the worlds;

  18. Say: What! shall I seek a Lord other than Allah? And He is the Lord of all things; and no soul earns (evil) but against itself, and no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another; then to your Lord is your return, so He will inform you of that in which you differed.

  19. Surely your Lord is Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth in six periods of time, and He is firm in power; He throws the veil of night over the day, which it pursues incessantly; and (He created) the sun and the moon and the stars, made subservient by His command; surely His is the creation and the command; blessed is Allah, the Lord of the worlds.

  20. He said: O my people! there is no error in me, but I am an messenger from the Lord of the worlds.

  21. He said: O my people! there is no folly in me, but I am an messenger of the Lord of the worlds.

  22. And Musa said: O Firon! surely I am a messenger from the Lord of the worlds:

  23. They said: We believe in the Lord of the worlds,

  24. The Lord of Musa and Haroun.

  25. And when Musa came at Our appointed time and his Lord spoke to him, he said: My Lord! show me (Thyself), so that I may look upon Thee. He said: You cannot (bear to) see Me but look at the mountain, if it remains firm in its place, then will you see Me; but when his Lord manifested His glory to the mountain He made it crumble and Musa fell down in a swoon; then when he recovered, he said: Glory be to Thee, I turn to Thee, and I am the first of the believers.

  26. He said: My Lord! forgive me and my brother and cause us to enter into Thy mercy, and Thou art the most Merciful of the merciful ones.

  27. And Musa chose out of his people seventy men for Our appointment; so when the earthquake overtook them, he said: My Lord! if Thou hadst pleased, Thou hadst destroyed them before and myself (too); wilt Thou destroy us for what the fools among us have done? It is naught but Thy trial, Thou makest err with it whom Thou pleasest and guidest whom Thou pleasest: Thou art our Guardian, therefore forgive us and have mercy on us, and Thou art the best of the forgivers.

  28. They have taken their doctors of law and their monks for lords besides Allah, and (also) the Messiah son of Marium and they were enjoined that they should serve one Allah only, there is no god but He; far from His glory be what they set up (with Him).

  29. But if they turn back, say: Allah is sufficient for me, there is no god but He; on Him do I rely, and He is the Lord of mighty power.

  30. Their cry in it shall be: Glory to Thee, O Allah! and their greeting in it shall be: Peace; and the last of their cry shall be: Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.

  31. And this Quran is not such as could be forged by those besides Allah, but it is a verification of that which is before it and a clear explanation of the book, there is no doubt in it, from the Lord of the worlds.

  32. And Nuh cried out to his Lord and said: My Lord! surely my son is of my family, and Thy promise is surely true, and Thou art the most just of the judges.

  33. He said: My Lord! I seek refuge in Thee from asking Thee that of which I have no knowledge; and if Thou shouldst not forgive me and have mercy on me, I should be of the losers.

  34. He said: My Lord! the prison house is dearer to me than that to which they invite me; and if Thou turn not away their device from me, I will yearn towards them and become (one) of the ignorant.

  35. O my two mates of the prison! are sundry lords better or Allah the One, the Supreme?

  36. My Lord! Thou hast given me of the kingdom and taught me of the interpretation of sayings: Originator of the heavens and the earth! Thou art my guardian in this world and the hereafter; make me die a muslim and join me with the good.

  37. Say: Who is the Lord of the heavens and the earth?-- Say: Allah. Say: Do you take then besides Him guardians who do not control any profit or harm for themselves? Say: Are the blind and the seeing alike? Or can the darkness and the light be equal? Or have they set up with Allah associates who have created creation like His, so that what is created became confused to them? Say: Allah is the Creator of all things, and He is the One, the Supreme.

  38. And when Ibrahim said: My Lord! make this city secure, and save me and my sons from worshipping idols:

  39. My Lord! surely they have led many men astray; then whoever follows me, he is surely of me, and whoever disobeys me, Thou surely arc Forgiving, Merciful:

  40. My Lord! make me keep up prayer and from my offspring (too), O our Lord, and accept my prayer:

  41. He said: My Lord! then respite me till the time when they are raised.

  42. He said: My Lord! because Thou hast made life evil to me, I will certainly make (evil) fair-seeming to them on earth, and I will certainly cause them all to deviate

  43. And make yourself submissively gentle to them with compassion, and say: O my Lord! have compassion on them, as they brought me up (when I was) little.

  44. And say: My Lord! make me to enter a goodly entering, and cause me to go forth a goodly going forth, and grant me from near Thee power to assist (me).

  45. He said: Truly you know that none but the Lord of the heavens and the earth has sent down these as clear proof and most surely I believe you, O Firon, to be given over to perdition.

  46. And We strengthened their hearts with patience, when they stood up and said: Our Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth; we will by no means call upon any god besides Him, for then indeed we should have said an extravagant thing.

  47. He said: My Lord! surely my bones are weakened and my head flares with hoariness, and, my Lord! I have never been unsuccessful in my prayer to Thee:

  48. Who should inherit me and inherit from the children of Yaqoub, and make him, my Lord, one in whom Thou art well pleased.

  49. He said: O my Lord! when shall I have a son, and my wife is barren, and I myself have reached indeed the extreme degree of old age?

  50. He said: My Lord! give me a sign. He said: Your sign is that you will not be able to speak to the people three nights while in sound health.

  51. The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, so serve Him and be patient in His service. Do you know any one equal to Him?

  52. He said: O my Lord! Expand my breast for me,

  53. And the magicians were cast down making obeisance; they said: We believe in the Lord of Haroun and Musa.

  54. He said: They are here on my track and I hastened on to Thee, my Lord, that Thou mightest be pleased.

  55. Supremely exalted is therefore Allah, the King, the Truth, and do not make haste with the Quran before its revelation is made complete to you and say: O my Lord ! increase me in knowledge.

  56. He shall say: My Lord! why hast Thou raised me blind and I was a seeing one indeed?

  57. If there had been in them any gods except Allah, they would both have certainly been in a state of disorder; therefore glory be to Allah, the Lord of the dominion, above what they attribute (to Him).

  58. He said: Nay! your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, Who brought them into existence, and I am of those who bear witness to this:

  59. And Zakariya, when he cried to his Lord: O my Lord leave me not alone; and Thou art the best of inheritors.

  60. He said: O my Lord! judge Thou with truth; and our Lord is the Beneficent Allah, Whose help is sought against what you ascribe (to Him).

  61. He said: O my Lord! help me against their calling me a liar.

  62. And say: O my Lord! cause me to disembark a blessed alighting, and Thou art the best to cause to alight.

  63. He said: O my Lord! help me against their calling me a liar.

  64. Say: Who is the Lord of the seven heavens and the Lord of the mighty dominion?

  65. Say: O my Lord! if Thou shouldst make me see what they are threatened with:

  66. My Lord! then place me not with the unjust.

  67. And say: O my Lord! I seek refuge in Thee from the evil suggestions of the Shaitans;

  68. And I seek refuge in Thee! O my Lord! from their presence.

  69. Until when death overtakes one of them, he says: Send me back, my Lord, send me back;

  70. So exalted be Allah, the True King; no god is there but He, the Lord of the honorable dominion.

  71. And say: O my Lord! forgive and have mercy, and Thou art the best of the Merciful ones.

  72. And the Messenger cried out: O my Lord! surely my people have treated this Quran as a forsaken thing.

  73. He said: O my Lord! surely I fear that they will reject me;

  74. Then come to Firon and say: Surely we are the messengers of the Lord of the worlds:

  75. Firon said: And what is the Lord of the worlds?

  76. He said: The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, if you would be sure.

  77. He said: Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers of old.

  78. He said: The Lord of the east and the west and what is between them, if you understand.

  79. They said: We believe in the Lord of the worlds:

  80. The Lord of Musa and Haroun.

  81. Surely they are enemies to me, but not (so) the Lord of the worlds;

  82. My Lord: Grant me wisdom, and join me with the good

  83. When we made you equal to the Lord of the worlds;

  84. And I do not ask you any reward for it; my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds:

  85. He said: My Lord! Surely my people give me the lie!

  86. And I do not ask you any reward for it; surely my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds

  87. And I do not ask you any reward for it; my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds:

  88. And I do not ask you any reward for it; my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds;

  89. My Lord ! deliver me and my followers from what they do.

  90. And I do not ask you any reward for it, my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds;

  91. And most surely this is a revelation from the Lord of the worlds.

  92. So when he came to it a voice was uttered saying: Blessed is Whoever is in the fire and whatever is about it; and glory be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds;

  93. So he smiled, wondering at her word, and said: My Lord! grant me that I should be grateful for Thy favor which Thou hast bestowed on me and on my parents, and that I should do good such as Thou art pleased with, and make me enter, by Thy mercy, into Thy servants, the good ones.

  94. Allah, there is no god but He: He is the Lord of mighty power.

  95. It was said to her: Enter the palace; but when she saw it she deemed it to be a great expanse of water, and bared her legs. He said: Surely it is a palace made smooth with glass. She said: My Lord! surely I have been unjust to myself, and I submit with Sulaiman to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.

  96. I am commanded only that I should serve the Lord of this city, Who has made it sacred, and His are all things; and I am commanded that I should be of these who submit;

  97. He said: My Lord! surely I have done harm to myself, so do Thou protect me. So He protected him; surely He is the Forgiving, the Merciful.

  98. He said: My Lord! because Thou hast bestowed a favor on me, I shall never be a backer of the guilty.

  99. So he went forth therefrom, fearing, awaiting, (and) he said: My Lord! deliver me from the unjust people.

  100. So he watered (their sheep) for them, then went back to the shade and said: My Lord! surely I stand in need of whatever good Thou mayest send down to me.
