ءَايَةنَا

Appears 74 times in the Quran. (Root: ايي)
  1. Even as We have sent among you a Messenger from among you who recites to you Our communications and purifies you and teaches you the Book and the wisdom and teaches you that which you did not know.

  2. Like the striving of the people of Firon and those before them; they rejected Our communications, so Allah destroyed them on account of their faults; and Allah is severe in requiting (evil).

  3. (As for) those who disbelieve in Our communications, We shall make them enter fire; so oft as their skins are thoroughly burned, We will change them for other skins, that they may taste the chastisement; surely Allah is Mighty, Wise.

  4. And they who reject Our communications are deaf and dumb, in utter darkness; whom Allah pleases He causes to err and whom He pleases He puts on the right way.

  5. And (as for) those who reject Our communications, chastisement shall afflict them because they transgressed.

  6. And when those who believe in Our communications come to you, say: Peace be on you, your Lord has ordained mercy on Himself, (so) that if any one of you does evil in ignorance, then turns after that and acts aright, then He is Forgiving, Merciful.

  7. And when you see those who enter into false discourses about Our communications, withdraw from them until they enter into some other discourse, and if the Shaitan causes you to forget, then do not sit after recollection with the unjust people.

  8. Say: Bring your witnesses who should bear witness that Allah has forbidden this, then if they bear witness, do not bear witness with them; and follow not the low desires of those who reject Our communications and of those who do not believe in the hereafter, and they make (others) equal to their Lord.

  9. Or lest you should say: If the Book had been revealed to us, we would certainly have been better guided than they, so indeed there has come to you clear proof from your Lord, and guidance and mercy. Who then is more unjust than he who rejects Allah's communications and turns away from them? We will reward those who turn away from Our communications with an evil chastisement because they turned away.

  10. And as for him whose measure (of good deeds) is light those are they who have made their souls suffer loss because they disbelieved in Our communications.

  11. And (as for) those who reject Our communications and turn away from them haughtily-- these are the inmates of the fire they shall abide in it.

  12. Surely (as for) those who reject Our communications and turn away from them haughtily, the doors of heaven shall not be opened for them, nor shall they enter the garden until the camel pass through the eye of the needle; and thus do We reward the guilty.

  13. Who take their religion for an idle sport and a play and this life's world deceives them; so today We forsake them, as they neglected the meeting of this day of theirs and as they denied Our communications.

  14. So We delivered him and those with him by mercy from Us, and We cut off the last of those who rejected Our communications and were not believers.

  15. Therefore We inflicted retribution on them and drowned them in the sea because they rejected Our signs and were heedless of them.

  16. I will turn away from My communications those who are unjustly proud in the earth; and if they see every sign they will not believe in It; and if they see the way of rectitude they do not take It for a way, and if they see the way of error. they take it for a way; this is because they rejected Our communications and were heedless of them.

  17. And (as to) those who reject Our communications and the meeting of the hereafter, their deeds are null. Shall they be rewarded except for what they have done?

  18. And ordain for us good in this world's life and m the hereafter, for surely we turn to Thee. He said: (As for) My chastisement, I will afflict with it whom I please, and My mercy encompasses all things; so I will ordain it (specially) for those who guard (against evil) and pay the poor-rate, and those who believe in Our communications.

  19. And recite to them the narrative of him to whom We give Our communications, but he withdraws himself from them, so the Shaitan overtakes him, so he is of those who go astray.

  20. And if We had pleased, We would certainly have exalted him thereby; but he clung to the earth and followed his low desire, so his parable is as the parable of the dog; if you attack him he lolls out his tongue; and if you leave him alone he lolls out his tongue; this is the parable of the people who reject Our communications; therefore relate the narrative that they may reflect.

  21. Evil is the likeness of the people who reject Our communications and are unjust to their own souls.

  22. And (as to) those who reject Our communications, We draw them near (to destruction) by degrees from whence they know not.

  23. And when Our communications are recited to them, they say: We have heard indeed; if we pleased we could say the like of it; this is nothing but the stories of the ancients.

  24. Surely those who do not hope in Our meeting and are pleased with this world's life and are content with it, and those who are heedless of Our communications:

  25. And when Our clear communications are recited to them, those who hope not for Our meeting say: Bring a Quran other than this or change it. Say: It does not beseem me that I should change it of myself; I follow naught but what is revealed to me; surely I fear, if I disobey my Lord, the punishment of a mighty day.

  26. And when We make people taste of mercy after an affliction touches them, lo ! they devise plans against Our communication. Say: Allah is quicker to plan; surely Our messengers write down what you plan.

  27. But they rejected him, so We delivered him and those with him in the ark, and We made them rulers and drowned those who rejected Our communications; see then what was the end of the (people) warned.

  28. Then did We send up after them Musa and Haroun to Firon and his chiefs with Our signs, but they showed pride and they were a guilty people.

  29. But We will this day deliver you with your body that you may be a sign to those after you, and most surely the majority of the people are heedless to Our communications.

  30. And certainly We sent Musa with Our communications and a clear authority,

  31. And We gave them Our communications, but they turned aside from them;

  32. This is their retribution because they disbelieved in Our communications and said What! when we shall have become bones and decayed particles, shall we then indeed be raised up into a new creation?

  33. Or, do you think that the Fellows of the Cave and the Inscription were of Our wonderful signs?

  34. And when Our clear communications are recited to them, those who disbelieve say to those who believe: Which of the two parties is best in abiding and best in assembly?

  35. Have you, then, seen him who disbelieves in Our communications and says: I shall certainly be given wealth and children?

  36. That We may show you of Our greater signs:

  37. And truly We showed him Our signs, all of them, but he rejected and refused.

  38. He will say: Even so, Our communications came to you but you neglected them; even thus shall you be forsaken this day.

  39. And (as for) those who strive to oppose Our communications, they shall be the inmates of the flaming fire.

  40. And (as for) those who disbelieve in and reject Our communications, these it is who shall have a disgraceful chastisement.

  41. And when Our clear communications are recited to them you will find denial on the faces of those who disbelieve; they almost spring upon those who recite to them Our communications. Say: Shall I inform you of what is worse than this? The fire; Allah has promised it to those who disbelieve; and how evil the resort!

  42. Then We sent Musa and his brother Haroun, with Our communications and a clear authority,

  43. Then We said: Go you both to the people who rejected Our communications; so We destroyed them with utter destruction.

  44. So when Our clear signs came to them, they said: This is clear enchantment.

  45. Nor can you be a guide to the blind out of their error; you cannot make to bear (any one) except those who believe in Our communications, so they submit.

  46. And when the word shall come to pass against them, We shall bring forth for them a creature from the earth that shall i wound them, because people did not believe in Our communications.

  47. And on the day when We will gather from every nation a party from among those who rejected Our communications, then they shall be formed into groups.

  48. So when Musa came to them with Our clear signs, they said: This is nothing but forged enchantment, and we never heard of it amongst our fathers of old.

  49. But We raised up generations, then life became prolonged to them; and you were not dwelling among the people of Madyan, reciting to them Our communications, but We were the senders.

  50. And your Lord never destroyed the towns until He raised in their metropolis a messenger, reciting to them Our communications, and We never destroyed the towns except when their people were unjust.

  51. And as to those who disbelieved and rejected Our communications and the meeting of the hereafter, these shall be brought over to the chastisement.

  52. Nor can you lead away the blind out of their error. You cannot make to hear any but those who believe in Our communications so they shall submit.

  53. And when Our communications are recited to him, he turns back proudly, as if he had not heard them, as though in his ears were a heaviness, therefore announce to him a painful chastisement.

  54. Only they believe in Our communications who, when they are reminded of them, fall down in prostration and celebrate the praise of their Lord, and they are not proud.

  55. And We made of them Imams to guide by Our command when they were patient, and they were certain of Our communications.

  56. And (as for) those who strive hard in opposing Our communications, these it is for whom is a painful chastisement of an evil kind.

  57. And (as for) those who strive in opposing Our communications, they shall be caused to be brought to the chastisement.

  58. And when Our clear communications are recited to them, they say: This is naught but a man who desires to turn you away from that which your fathers worshipped. And they say: This is naught but a lie that is forged. And those who disbelieve say of the truth when it comes to them: This is only clear enchantment.

  59. And certainly We sent Musa with Our communications and clear authority,

  60. Then as to Ad, they were unjustly proud in the land, and they said: Who is mightier in strength than we? Did they not see that Allah Who created them was mightier than they in strength, and they denied Our communications?

  61. That is the reward of the enemies of Allah-- the fire; for them therein shall be the house of long abiding; a reward for their denying Our communications.

  62. Surely they who deviate from the right way concerning Our communications are not hidden from Us. What! is he then who is cast into the fire better, or he who comes safe on the day of resurrection? Do what you like, surely He sees what you do.

  63. We will soon show them Our signs in the Universe and in their own souls, until it will become quite clear to them that it is the truth. Is it not sufficient as regards your Lord that He is a witness over all things?

  64. And (that) those who dispute about Our communications may know; there is no place of refuge for them.

  65. Those who believed in Our communications and were submissive:

  66. And when he comes to know of any of Our communications, he takes it for a jest; these it is that shall have abasing chastisement.

  67. And when Our clear communications are recited to them, their argument is no other than that they say: Bring our fathers (back) if you are truthful.

  68. And when Our clear communications are recited to them, those who disbelieve say with regard to the truth when it comes to them: This is clear magic.

  69. They rejected all Our communications, so We overtook them after the manner of a Mighty, Powerful One.

  70. When Our communications are recited to him, he says: Stories of those of yore.

  71. By no means! surely he offers opposition to Our communications.

  72. And called Our communications a lie, giving the lie (to the truth).

  73. When Our communications are recited to him, he says: Stories of those of yore.

  74. And (as for) those who disbelieve in our communications, they are the people of the left hand.
