تَعْلَمُونَ

Appears 58 times in the Quran. (Root: علم)
  1. Who made the earth a resting place for you and the heaven a canopy and (Who) sends down rain from the cloud then brings forth with it subsistence for you of the fruits; therefore do not set up rivals to Allah while you know.

  2. And when your Lord said to the angels, I am going to place in the earth a khalif, they said: What! wilt Thou place in it such as shall make mischief in it and shed blood, and we celebrate Thy praise and extol Thy holiness? He said: Surely I know what you do not know.

  3. And do not mix up the truth with the falsehood, nor hide the truth while you know (it).

  4. And they say: Fire shall not touch us but for a few days. Say: Have you received a promise from Allah, then Allah will not fail to perform His promise, or do you speak against Allah what you do not know?

  5. Even as We have sent among you a Messenger from among you who recites to you Our communications and purifies you and teaches you the Book and the wisdom and teaches you that which you did not know.

  6. He only enjoins you evil and indecency, and that you may speak against Allah what you do not know.

  7. For a certain number of days; but whoever among you is sick or on a journey, then (he shall fast) a (like) number of other days; and those who are not able to do it may effect a redemption by feeding a poor man; so whoever does good spontaneously it is better for him; and that you fast is better for you if you know.

  8. And do not swallow up your property among yourselves by false means, neither seek to gain access thereby to the judges, so that you may swallow up a part of the property of men wrongfully while you know.

  9. Fighting is enjoined on you, and h is an object of dislike to you; and it may be that you dislike a thing while it is good for you, and it may be that you love a thing while it is evil for you, and Allah knows, while you do not know.

  10. And when you have divorced women and they have ended-- their term (of waiting), then do not prevent them from marrying their husbands when they agree among themselves in a lawful manner; with this is admonished he among you who believes in Allah and the last day, this is more profitable and purer for you; and Allah knows while you do not know.

  11. But if you are in danger, then (say your prayers) on foot or on horseback; and when you are secure, then remember Allah, as. He has taught you what you did not know.

  12. And if (the debtor) is in straitness, then let there be postponement until (he is in) ease; and that you remit (it) as alms is better for you, if you knew.

  13. Behold! you are they who disputed about that of which you had knowledge; why then do you dispute about that of which you have no knowledge? And Allah knows while you do not know.

  14. O followers of the Book! Why do you confound the truth with the falsehood and hide the truth while you know?

  15. For every prophecy is a term, and you will come to know (it).

  16. And how should I fear what you have set up (with Him), while you do not fear that you have set up with Allah that for which He has not sent down to you any authority; which then of the two parties is surer of security, if you know?

  17. Say: O my people! act according to your ability; I too am acting; so you will soon come to know, for whom (of us) will be the (good) end of the abode; surely the unjust shall not be successful.

  18. And when they commit an indecency they say: We found our fathers doing this, and Allah has enjoined it on us. Say: Surely Allah does not enjoin indecency; do you say against Allah what you do not know?

  19. Say: My Lord has only prohibited indecencies, those of them that are apparent as well as those that are concealed, and sin and rebellion without justice, and that you associate with Allah that for which He has not sent down any authority, and that you say against Allah what you do not know.

  20. He will say: Enter into fire among the nations that have passed away before you from among jinn and men; whenever a nation shall enter, it shall curse its sister, until when they have all come up with one another into it; the last of them shall say with regard to the foremost of them: Our Lord! these led us astray therefore give them a double chastisement of the fire. He will say: Every one shall have double but you do not know.

  21. I deliver to you the messages of my Lord, and I offer you good advice and I know from Allah what you do not know.

  22. The chief of those who behaved proudly among his people said to those who were considered weak, to those who believed from among them: Do you know that Salih is sent by his Lord? They said: Surely we are believers in what he has been sent with

  23. Firon said: Do you believe in Him before I have given you permission? Surely this is a plot which you have secretly devised in this city, that you may turn out of it its people, but you shall know:

  24. O you who believe! be not unfaithful to Allah and the Messenger, nor be unfaithful to your trusts while you know.

  25. Go forth light and heavy, and strive hard in Allah's way with your property and your persons; this is better for you, if you know.

  26. They say: Allah has taken a son (to Himself)! Glory be to Him: He is the Self-sufficient: His is what is in the heavens and what is in the earth; you have no authority for this; do you say against Allah what you do not know?

  27. So shall you know who it is on whom will come a chastisement which will disgrace him, and on whom will lasting chastisement come down.

  28. And, O my people! act according to your ability, I too am acting; you will come to know soon who it is on whom will light the punishment that will disgrace him and who it is that is a liar, and watch, surely I too am watching with you.

  29. He said: I only complain of my grief and sorrow to Allah, and I know from Allah what you do not know.

  30. So when the bearer of good news came he cast it on his face, so forthwith he regained his sight. He said: Did I not say to you that I know from Allah what you do not know?

  31. And (He made) horses and mules and asses that you might ride upon them and as an ornament; and He creates what you do not know.

  32. And We did not send before you any but men to whom We sent revelation-- so ask the followers of the Reminder if you do not know--

  33. So that they be ungrateful for what We have given them; then enjoy yourselves; for soon will you know

  34. Therefore do not give likenesses to Allah; surely Allah knows and you do not know.

  35. And Allah has brought you forth from the wombs of your mothers-- you did not know anything-- and He gave you hearing and sight and hearts that you may give thanks.

  36. And do not take a small price in exchange for Allah's covenant; surely what is with Allah is better for you, did you but know.

  37. Say: Every one (of us) is awaiting, therefore do await: So you will come to know who is the follower of the even path and who goes aright.

  38. And We did not send before you any but men to whom We sent revelation, so ask the followers of the reminder if you do not

  39. Say: Whose is the earth, and whoever is therein, if you know?

  40. Say: Who is it in Whose hand is the kingdom of all things and Who gives succor, but against Him Succor is not given, if you do but know?

  41. He will say: You did tarry but a little-- had you but known (it):

  42. Surely (as for) those who love that scandal should circulate respecting those who believe, they shall have a grievous chastisement in this world and the hereafter; and Allah knows, while you do not know.

  43. Said he: You believe in him before I give you permission; most surely he is the chief of you who taught you the magic, so you shall know: certainly I will cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, and certainly I will crucify you all.

  44. And be careful of (your duty to) Him Who has given you abundance of what you know.

  45. And (We sent) Ibrahim, when he said to his people: Serve Allah and be careful of (your duty to) Him; this is best for you, if you did but know:

  46. So as to be ungrateful for what We have given them; but enjoy yourselves (for a while), for you shall soon come to know.

  47. And those who are given knowledge and faith will say: Certainly you tarried according to the ordinance of Allah till the day of resurrection, so this is the day of resurrection, but you did not know.

  48. Say: O my people! work in your place, surely I am a worker, so you will come to know.

  49. In order that We may bring in your place the likes of you and make you grow into what you know not.

  50. And most surely it is a very great oath if you only knew;

  51. You shall believe in Allah and His Messenger, and struggle hard in Allah's way with your property and your lives; that is better for you, did you but know!

  52. O you who believe! when the call is made for prayer on Friday, then hasten to the remembrance of Allah and leave off trading; that is better for you, if you know.

  53. Or are you secure of those in the heaven that He should not send down upon you a punishment? Then shall you know how was My warning.

  54. Say: He is the Beneficent Allah, we believe in Him and on Him do we rely, so you shall come to know who it is that is in clear error.

  55. He will forgive you some of your faults and grant you a delay to an appointed term; surely the term of Allah when it comes is not postponed; did you but know!

  56. Nay! you shall soon know,

  57. Nay! Nay! you shall soon know.
